About the Book

When Ben receives a garbled email message he knows that the idyllic lifestyle that he had hoped for by moving to France is about to end.

Ben Coverdale has lived happily with Mary Willson for the past five years but on the fifth anniversary of their moving in together, Mary announces that she is leaving him to live with Donald, a man many years her senior.

Distraught, Ben now takes the opportunity to fulfil a dream that he has had for many years; to move to France and start a new life there.

He knows nothing of Mary’s concerns about Donald’s behaviour. He is doing his best to keep her away from her previous friends, insisting that she change her hairstyle, and buying strange, outrageous clothes for her. Things are made much worse when she discovers, and has to admit to Donald, that she is carrying Ben’s child.

As things rapidly deteriorate, Mary and her baby are taken, with the help of an old friend, to meet up with Ben, only to find that her old adversary, Katie, is there before her.

At first glance 'Sanctuary' may appear to be a romantic novel, but it isn't.
Nothing is as straightforward as it seems.

About the Author

Glyn Smith-Wild

Having retired from his working life in commerce and finance, Glyn Smith-Wild had the opportunity to write – something had wanted to do for many years, but never had the time. He lives with his wife, teenage son and a neurotic border collie in England’s West Country. He enjoys nothing more than discovering more of the countryside in which he lives, including the Jurassic Coast on the south coast of Dorset, often ending up in one of the hundreds of country pubs in the area.

He has an eclectic taste in music, but would probably put Michael Jackson at the top of the list. His temptations are red wine and dark chocolate which he has difficulty in turning down.
