He credits the library across the street from his childhood home in Battersea, southwest London with opening his eyes to the engrossing world of fantasy and science fiction.
Some of his earlier influences include JRR Tolkien and his majestic book, The Lord of the Rings. Others include Robert Jordan, who wrote The Wheel of Time Series of books, and Frank Herbert who wrote the science fiction classic, Dune.
