Suffer: A knock on the front door can change everything. Take away what she loves and you’ll leave her with nothing but darkness. When you do, she’ll come knocking on yours.

The novel has been self-published and is available in Hardcover and Kindle Editions via Amazon and B&N – 291 pages – released in September 2012.

About the Book

Kate Freeman opened the front door of her vacation villa to see a Florida State Trooper standing on the porch. A few moments later, 50,000 paralyzing volts shot through her body. Her world went dark after her head impacted the tile floor.

She woke unable to move. Sitting a few feet away bound to a chair, her six-year-old son sat staring at her. It was just the beginning of their hellish nightmare.

150 miles away, Kate's husband Paul was on his annual scuba trip in the Bahamas. Early the next morning, he pulled away from the dock and headed back to the villa on Sugar Loaf Key to be reunited with his family. He would be the first to find them - exactly as the killer planned.

Reviews (Excerpts)

- “E.E. Borton brings this book to life! From the opening chapter, to the very last sentence of the book, I was unable to put the book down. There were several times I felt my heart racing and felt like I was actually there with the characters in the book. Borton does a wonderful job with the plot, ensuring the reader has a seamless, believable journey. He has a unique way of webbing the characters together so there are no gaps in the story. This is a thriller I highly recommend to all!” - Chelelyn (Amazon)

- “You'll be caught up in this storyline right out of the gate and the momentum doesn't let up until the last word! Suffer is the perfect blend of: dark, sexy, fast-paced action, believable characters with some light-hearted humor in the mix! Full of heart-stopping, spine-tingling twists & turns that will leave you breathless, you won't be able to put down this page-turner, it's a wickedly good read!” - Mel M. (Amazon)

- “Just finished this book; took all of 2 days. From the first page, I was hooked. All the reviews (which is why I purchased the book) are true. The author grabs your attention right out the gate. You are immediately drawn into the dark, twisted and devastated world of the characters. You will feel their pain and suffering as you turn each page. Just when you think you've got it figured out, you are quickly reminded that you don't. You will find yourself routing for a type of revenge and justice that you never thought possible. Although this is one of the darkest and most disturbing stories I have ever read, it is by far the BEST story I have ever read. I don't think this one can be topped. It is simply that fantastic.” - Shelia Mac (Amazon)

Author E. E. Borton
E. E. Borton: "I introduced myself to the world on September 7th, 1969, in Norfolk, Virginia. You could say I made a huge impression on my first day weighing in at over 10 pounds. I believe only a mother could appreciate the significance of that number. To this day, I still apologize to mine.

I followed in my father’s footsteps and joined the military after school. I served six years with Naval Intelligence in North Africa, Southern Europe, and the Middle East. As a civilian, I served thirteen years with a rescue helicopter service in Atlanta, Georgia, where I currently live. It’s also the place where I made the life changing decision to pursue my passion for telling stories.

I finished my first novel in February of 2010. It was huge at well over 400 pages. It’s also when I learned the first difficult lesson of my writing career. Sometimes you just have to put a manuscript in a drawer and start over. I believe it’s what separates the novice from the professional. A novel isn’t your baby, it’s a product. And if you try and release a substandard product, the market will respond quickly, completely, and without mercy.

Two weeks after I closed the drawer – and the excruciating pain of staring at another blank screen subsided – I started my next book. Abomination was released in March of 2011. It’s simply a better product and something of which I’m proud to attach my name. My second novel, Suffer, was released in November of the same year. My third, Without, was released in September of 2012.

This is just the beginning of my writing life. It’s not what I do, it’s who I am."
