The hunt for truth stirs up a hornet’s nest of murders, problems, threats, resolutions, and even a romance or two.

The Book has been self-published via Wellston Publishing and is available as eBook and Paperback - 309 pages - released in January 2014.

About the Book

Two brothers, one vanishes and the other stirs up a romance and a hornet's nest looking for him.

Matt and Chuck Veal of West Creek County, Georgia are brothers who own a timber sawmill. Chuck, the younger, left the state in search of a career outside trees in the newspaper business, leaving his brother to run things for them.

The story gets into high gear when Matt vanishes and Chuck has to return to Georgia and figure out what happened, who "done it" and why. The sub plot and paranormal touch comes in the name of Gail, an employee of the same paper where Chuck works.

She has a strange vision triggered when touching an old coin but doesn't connect all the dots until hearing about Chuck's missing brother and more in depth details of the Veal family history. Matt's friends, after Chuck arrives back home, join with him and together they stir up a hornet's nest of trouble and closets full of family skeletons.

Reviews (Excerpts)

- "This book gave me the best of both worlds - mystery and paranormal. The author provides a credible perspective on the paranormal while weaving an engaging tale of mystery.[...] The suspense builds until the denouement. I am absolutely hooked. It was refreshing to discover this author and a new genre to explore. I recommend this book for readers who like mysteries and stories of the paranormal. Furthermore, I encourage all readers to venture beyond their literary comfort zone and try this book. " - D.W. Hardin

- "I LOVE the combination of mystery, psychic ability ( which I drool over) and the family values of the Southern population.[...]" - Joan A Torres

- "Whispering Pines The beginning, grabbed me from the get go and kept me interested all the way through. With a missing person, possible murder and mysterious history at the helm of this suspense thriller, it kept me turning the pages to find out more.
It is well written and very enjoyable but you must overlook the editing because it really is the only thing that lets the book down. That didn't bother me too much though as I was so engaged in the story.[...]"
- Leisl Kaberry

- " The characters are loveable, colorful, and believable, and the paranormal bit was done with just the right touch. And it's PG13! Some violence, no sex or swearing. Wells is a storyteller in the best sense of the word, and I can't wait to get to know the characters better![...]" - Lurker (Amazon)

About the Author

Author Charles E. Wells
Author Charles E. Wells
Before turning to fiction writing, Charles E. Wells spent most of his career as a newspaper reporter and journalist in middle Georgia. He covered everything from high school sports to front page news.

During the last fourteen years of his career, he worked as Managing Editor for “The Robins Review” a military town’s 25,000 weekly edition publication. The city’s mixed population of civilian and military called for a unique brand of writing skills that Wells found comfortable supplying.

The highlight of his career was in 1988 when a sharply written article made the national wire services and was republished around the world. The topic was the advance of technology in the Air Force’s electronic warfare division and aptly titled “Stone Age to Star Wars.” Copies of the article made it to the desk of then President Ronald Regan who had initially emblazoned the term into the minds of the world.
