About the Book

Take a step into the magical world of Windemere where history is forged by brave adventurers.

Luke Callindor was born into Windemere’s most decorated family of adventurers. Since his birth, he has been treated with the greatest amount of respect and awe. Now, with a lifetime of training and the reckless cockiness of youth, Luke has set out to prove that he deserves the admiration that comes from being a Callindor.

Luke gets his chance when he convinces a royal messenger to hire him to protect the heir of Duke Solomon. This future leader is secretly attending Hamilton Military Academy, an esteemed school run by the former mercenary, Selenia Hamilton. It is a dangerous secret mission requiring that Luke pretend to be an average student while keeping an eye out for any sign of danger. Unfortunately, Luke has no idea which student the heir is and a demonic assassin is already several steps ahead of him. Finding himself in over his head and constantly in trouble, the young warrior realizes that the only things he has on his side are some new friends and his unwavering courage.

Reviews (Excerpts)

- "I wasn't sure what I was looking for while scanning through Amazon but I never imagined the wonderful journey this story took me on. The story is so detailed that I felt like I was literally in Windemere with Luke. Characters so likeable, enjoyable as well as some uniquely creepy ones. I enjoyed the present tense writing style, it made it feel like I was battling along side Luke instead of just reading what happened after the fact. I would and have recommended this to friends. I can't wait for the sequel! " - Ashley M Newman

- "This was a good book. No, it was a great book. There was adventure, a teensy bit of romance, great characters who were described in wonderful detail, and a story that kept you wanting to read more.[...]" - Pamela Beckford

- "[...] The characters all have their roles to play in this book and they all contribute in their own unique ways and you will enjoy reading about the personal growth that they all go through during the course of the book.
If you want to know what happens with Luke and his companions you will have to read the book because I can't do it justice by just summarizing it here with this post.
You have GOT to check this one out!"
- ZombiePhreak

- "One of the things I loved about this book was that it was written in present tense. I can't think of another fantasy book that I've read that's been written in present tense, and it made me feel as though the book was happening around me as I read it.
The world is complex, very detailed and rich, as were the characters. The main character, Luke Callindor, was packed full of ambition. [...]"
- Gwendolyn Bristol

- "Lots of magic and great creatures. The bad guys are really bad and the good guys are unaware. Young adult reading for me is a good break from the mean spirited fiction and bad language in the more adult stories. Looking forward to the continued writings ahead. Thanks Mr. Yallowitz keep it coming. " - tatemjr
