About the Book

“Every man is a man in trouble,” and Drew Saint, Peter Simons, and Jim Major are not exception. Hundreds of miles out to sea in the frigid waters of the North Atlantic, stories begin to change, facts begin to blur and emerge, and tempers begin to flare.

What they thought would be a difficult but fairly routine mission becomes twisted with lies and perils, as the three unsuspecting friends find themselves deliberately drawn into a complex, high seas, high stakes historical take of betrayal, revenge, greed, and murder.

Reviews (Excerpts)

- "With every fin kick inside a collapsing shipwreck, to the storm-tossed seas in a crowded boat on the surface, Charles Turner gives the reader the clear sense that you are there.. I couldn't put it down!" - James Delgado, Host of National Geographic's "The Sea Hunters"

- "From the attack center of a WWII German U-Boat, to an ill-fated salvage operation, Charles Turner reels you into the cold, unforgiving depths of the North Atlantic. You'll find yourself wanting more." - Steven Everard, CDR, USN (ret)

- "[...] the underwater sequences are at least as compelling as, say, Clive Cussler's, and details such as the taste of brine leaking in behind the divers' regulators put the reader right there in the scene with them. And Mr. Turner does nearly as well on dry land: the book is laden with characters, but each is an individual, easily distinguishable from the others; and each has a clearly-defined goal. The story moves well, and the conclusion is both logical and satisfying. The book itself is meticulously edited and formatted, and the author's facility with the language, excellent.[...]" - Steve (Amazon)

- "[...]Charles Turner III has crafted an engrossing adventure mystery; an intriguing tale of deep sea diving that will enthrall even the hardiest of land lovers. Expertly explained, readers don't have to be a diver to understand or experience "Clemency", and like the divers, readers will be so captivated by the "Clemency", they'll find it hard to pull their selves away and surface again. About the Author

Charles G Turner III on Indie Author News
Charles G. Turner III
Charles G. Turner III  was born in Winchester, Virginia. He attended grade School at The Hill School, Middleburg Virginia and entered an all-boys Episcopalian boarding school near Hagerstown, Maryland in the fall of 1979. There, he played Varsity Soccer, was an acolyte in the Chapel, and in his senior year was voted as one of 12 Prefects and one of 6 hall monitors in a dorm on Campus. He graduated with honors and went on to Randolph-Macon College in the September of 1982.

Charles concentrated his efforts on two areas of study in College: English and Computer Science. Before his graduation in 1986, he was offered and accepted a position as Legislative Assistant to Congressman D. French Slaughter, Jr., and went to work on Capitol Hill one week after commencement exercises. On the Hill, his legislative emphasis centered on matters related to Defense, Energy, Environment and Science and Technology where he served as a staffer for the committee.

As an author, Charles Turner writes almost exclusively from his personal passions and experience to add realism to his work, and enjoys living quietly with his family on a farm that has been in his family since the Revolutionary War, in Virginia’s Hunt Country.

Most would find Charles to be outgoing, gregarious, easily approachable, friendly and a good speaker who sits well in an interview. He has a deep nature, and tends to deal with broad and deep concepts in his writing. While not overtly religious, he does recognize religion as a driving force in our lives. He loves all things that are nature and the outdoors, man and invention, and experiences that elevate us through defining moments. This is well reflected in his hobbies, professional experience and his writing as a whole.
