Featured Indie Book: Nameless (Dawn Napier)

Featured Indie Book on Indie Author News: Contemporary High Fantasy - Nameless by Dawn Napier

The Fantasy-Book Nameless blends paganism and fairy magic with spiritual Christian elements. It addresses the issue of dogma in faith, and it reinforces beliefs that true morality is inborn and can not be indoctrinated. It's about the triumph of spirituality over mindless dogma.

The Book has been self-published via Amazon, Smashwords, and CreateSpace and is available as eBook and Paperback, released in May 2012.

About the Book

Sharon Ross's world is turned upside down by the arrival of a naked, nameless little girl on her doorstep. The toddler is not as helpless nor as human as she appears, and there's a demon on the other side that wants her dead.

Sharon takes the child in, and the demon finds them both.

They are forced to flee for their lives, and when the child is kidnapped Sharon enlists the aid of her brother Mark and a handsome young priest named Jason Cawley, who might or might not be re-thinking his vow of celibacy.

This contemporary fantasy fairy tale is a blend of pagan and Christian mythology.

Reviews (Excerpts)

- "[...] The book is full of adventure, with a good love story, and enough theological musings to keep your brain occupied without ever slowing down the main story. Napier's Underhill (the fairy world) is a strange place with a logic of its own, a place where everything is beautiful and anything can be deadly. The fairy kingdom is populated with beautiful, dangerous spirits who use magic and wiles to lure unsuspecting mortals [...]" - Bryce Andersen

- "[...] Napier's characters are likable - even the bad guys. They aren't terribly fleshed out, but it's a fantasy book and character development takes a backseat to plot. [...]
But what really hooked me is that one of the main characters is a Christian. [...] All loving, all forgiving, and humble. Napier managed to write this character without him coming off as sanctimonious or ridiculous which is, honestly, a breath of fresh air.

About the Author

Dawn Napier on Indie Author News
Dawn Napier has been writing since childhood. She wrote several poems for her high school literary magazine, The Thirsty Elephant. Since then she had several short stories appear in online publications, and has created her own e-zine, entitled Mom's Secret Horrors. She is married with three wonderful children, all of whom have appeared in her stories in one form or another.

Dawn Napier is deeply interested in mythology, spirituality, and human nature, themes that she re-visits frequently with her fantasy work. She lived in the Midwest for most of her life, but spent about ten very formative years in upstate New York, where she developed her passion for nature and living things.

Any time you read a story of Dawn Napier placed in a deep wood with huge trees so alive they could almost speak, you're reading about upstate New York.

Right now, Mrs. Napier is 3/4ths of the way through her next book project, an urban fantasy set in post-apocalyptic America.
