Hendrix is a former captain in the United States Army and a combat veteran of the war in Afghanistan. During his eight years in the United States Army he served in the Infantry and the Military Police Corps. Hendrix has a bachelor's degree in sociology with a concentration in criminology from the University of North Alabama. He also holds a master's in international peace and conflict resolution.
He currently resides in Pasadena, California and attends Fuller Theology Seminary.
