Charlotte Durach must survive the African wild and centuries-old, human violence to save her fiancé, protect endangered elephants and escape being sold into slavery or... worse.

A beautiful and brilliant, 2nd grade educator, Charlotte struggles to believe she is worthy of her fiancé, Zoologist, Quinn McRae, fifth born son of a mega-wealthy and highly respected West Texas ranching family and determined to overcome a paralyzing fear of large animals, the result of a cattle-roundup accident that took her grandfather's life, she embarks on an environmental mission to Lake Chad, Africa with Catholic Relief Services to experience the wildlife...from afar.

Quinn, traveling to Chad with the same group, leaves Lake Chad and Charlotte to study the endangered elephants near Zakouma National Park, where he is kidnapped by the ruthless ivory poacher Abukar Kabadi.

Horrified when she sees first-hand the atrocity of ivory poaching, the senseless slaughter of elephants for nothing more than greed, Charlotte wages a one-woman war against Abukar Kabadi for Quinn’s survival and to protect the elephants.

Author Lady Elizabeth Tullos
Like her characters, Lady Elizabeth Tullos is an adventurer. At age 60 she took a year to drive from Boston to Los Angeles with only her dogs and an inquisitive nature. She walked all over Greece with a broken toe, and regularly enjoys ghost hunting. These are journeys that give her inspiration.

Dubbed Lady Elizabeth of the Orange Purse by her friend and mentor, Eva Shaw PhD. Lady E, was recently tiarafied by her sister, who in her infinite wisdom saw the need for a crown of enlightenment. Lady E, having been a real estate goddess for thirty odd years, proclaimed the crown a fit.

She likes to write in the warm winters of South Texas and the cool summers of mountainous, Western New Mexico. That is, when her doggies, three Bichons and a fifty pound, blonde sweetheart, allow it. They try to help with the writing, but they really don’t type very well.

As a confirmed chocoholic and Ancient Alien and NCIS aficionado, Lady E squeezes in time to write everyday. She posts to her blog at least three times a week and reads until she can’t keep her eyes open any longer.
