PA novels are often about cataclysmic events, survivors fending off dangers at every page, zombie attacks, aliens destroying everything for inscrutable reasons, or as a fulfillment of a religious prophecy. Daimones is nothing of the sort.
The novel places a few survivors in a world having experienced a planetary culling of humankind, one with no immediate or apparent cause. The Apocalypse has arrived yet the 'why' and 'how' remain unknown in a frustrating - and fearful - reality for Dan Amenta and his family.
The Book has been self-published via Amazon, Apple, Smashwords, CreateSpace and is available as eBook and Paperback – 330 pages - released in October 2012.
About the Book
"One night the world’s population quietly died, except for Dan, his wife Mary and their teenage daughter. The mass extinction was so quiet that it was only on the commute to work in Geneva that Dan noticed that something was amiss.
Then with mounting alarm they discover that all the people around them are dead and that all the old certainties in life have vanished. Dan works quickly to protect his family’s short-term and medium-term safety and only then can he start to work out the means to test the premise that everybody else in the world is dead.
Finally they get a response though it is a rambling paranoid message which trips Dan and his family into a paranoid survival mode almost sabotaging their first human contact. The new survivor joins the family and the group dynamics change. Dan continues to search for other survivors and makes a key discovery about the mystery of the extinction while searching for survivors with the facilities at CERN." by Christopher Dagg for Readers Favorite

- “I could see myself in Dan's shoes, finding out that all is the same while nothing is the same anymore... The richness of details about the real Geneva, CERN and surroundings - where I actually live - made me have difficulties to split fiction from reality. What if... crazy world. Are we not the Daimones of all other animals on this planet?!
Brilliant, very well written! ” - Rudolpho Milos
- “This is quite simply a brilliant sci-fi novel and story.
It is a post-apocalyptic vision that is stunning in its breadth and complexity. It easily rivals the power of Stephen King's THE STAND and Neville Shute's ON THE BEACH.[...]” - James A. Anderson
- “It was a real pleasure to read that book! Suspense, action and anxiety, they make it very difficult to stop reading until you reach the end, and then make you ask for more! On the other hand, you read emotions, doubts, and love in every page with modesty, very simple and touching words, which makes the story even more concrete and 'true'.[...] ” - Nicolas (Amazon)
