In January 2009, ML Hamilton made her first New Year’s resolution ever. She resolved to get serious about her writing and planned to spend the entire year finding an agent. She did better. She found a publisher. The following spring, her first fantasy novel, Emerald, was published by Wild Wolf Publications in the United Kingdom. Since then her Publisher has published the next two novels in her fantasy series, one last summer and one next month.

In July of last year, ML Hamilton decided to venture into Indie Publishing with her contemporary rock star novel, Ravensong, and in January, she tackled a murder mystery with Potrero Hill: A Peyton Brooks’ Mystery.

ML Hamilton has always written, but her first memory was winning a writing contest in grade school. She wrote a short story about her hometown. She grew up in the beautiful coastal city of Pacifica, just outside of San Francisco. Pacifica was very wooded and a lot of the woods were being developed for housing. Her story was about a girl who was having a very hard time dealing with the loss of the natural habitat around her.

She majored in English at the University of California, Davis, and has been a teacher for the last 20 years, teaching writing and literature. She also teaches journalism.
