About the Author

Laurie Kellogg on Indie Author News
Laurie Kellogg lived most of her life in central New Jersey and descended from a long line of smart-alecks (which explains her snarky voice). She figures she must also have a touch of insanity swimming in her gene pool, because without it, she never would've decided (in a mid-life crisis) to attempt having a career as an author. Basically, she had to fantasize to escape her crazy reality, and writing is cheaper than psychotherapy.

After earning her associate’s degree, she married her high school sweetheart and soon discovered the man she'd fallen in love with was not heir to a fortune and was probably the least sentimental man in America. Luckily, David more than made up for his lack of romance by cheerfully tolerating her wacky family.

While raising a wonderful son and daughter, Laurie became a voracious romance reader and worked part-time as a jack-of-all-trades, doing whatever job allowed her to be home with her kids when they were off from school. She spent that time desperately trying to decide what she wanted to be when she grew up. Laurie finally had an epiphany right after her family moved to eastern Pennsylvania.

Two of Laurie's books won RWA's GOLDEN HEART (A Little Bit of Deja Vu) and (The Memory of You), the highest honor awarded to unpublished authors by RWA. She has been nominated a total of seven times for this prestigious award. She also won Pacific Northwest Writers Association’s ZOLA award, and her work was also a Romantic Times American Title I finalist.

In her free time, Laurie enjoys cooking (check out her recipes), movies, reading, and spending time on her treadmill to fight the never-ending battle of the bulge (well, maybe she doesn't enjoy that last one so much, but it's a necessary evil if she wants to eat anything besides lettuce--and as mentioned before, she LOVES to cook). She despises housework and has resorted to naming the dust-bunnies that multiply as fast as real rabbits while she writes. Her life sentence with her quirky family has inspired a cast of sassy characters, who she hopes one day readers will enjoy getting to know as well as she does.
